The Mobile Business Development & Sales Officer (Driver) will drive the company’s mobile office van nationwide, delivering financial solutions to underserved communities. Alongside safe vehicle operation, the officer will support marketing and sales efforts, promoting microlending services, raising awareness, and engaging with potential clients. This role combines driving with hands-on business development, requiring the officer to meet sales targets, enhance the company’s visibility, and build relationships in various regions.

Key performance areas

  • Safely operate the mobile office van to designated locations nationwide.

  • Maintain the van in a clean, operational state, ensuring readiness for business use.

  • Plan and coordinate mobile office travel schedules, adhering to company and regulatory guidelines.

  • Promote microlending services to individuals and small businesses in underserved areas.

  • Conduct on-site presentations, and community outreach to generate leads.

  • Achieve monthly sales targets by acquiring new clients, for Business Growth.

  • Build relationships with community members, businesses, and leaders to raise awareness of financial solutions.

  • Provide exceptional customer service to enhance client experience and company reputation.

  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to support business growth in existing and new markets.

  • Report on sales, market trends, and client feedback to inform future strategies and improve service delivery.

Skills, Knowledge & Personality requirements
  • Strong sales skills with a proven ability to engage potential clients and close deals.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse community members.

  • Knowledge of microlending services or experience in a financial services environment is preferred.

  • Trustworthy, reliable, and committed to safe and responsible driving practices.

  • Culturally sensitive, with a willingness to work in rural and underserved communities.

Educational and experience requirements
  • Minimum of a Grade 12 or equivalent. Additional qualifications in Sales, Business Development, or Finance Is an added advantage.

  • At least 2 years of experience in sales, Marketing, or Business Development, preferably within the financial services or microfinance industry will be an added advantage.

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role or community engagement is beneficial.

  • A valid, clean Code C1 driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience, preferably with experience in driving larger vehicles or mobile units.
