Data Analyst

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in transforming data into actionable insights that optimize credit risk management, collections strategies, and portfolio performance.

 

This role supports data-driven decision-making across credit risk, arrears management, recovery performance, prediction modelling, financial data, sales data and operational efficiency.

Key performance areas

  • Analyse credit and collections data to identify trends, risks, and performance drivers

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports on portfolio performance (arrears, roll rates, recovery rates, cure rates, write-offs)

  • Support credit risk strategy development through data modelling and segmentation analysis

  • Monitor delinquency trends and provide early warning insights

  • Perform customer-level and portfolio-level performance analysis

  • Automate reporting processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention

  • Provide analytical support for regulatory reporting and audit requirements

  • Assisting the finance department with financial data for reporting

  • Assisting the sales and business development department with any required data

Educational and experience requirements
  • Grade 12

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data or related field

  • Experience working with large datasets and structured/unstructured data

  • Advanced SQL (mandatory)

  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas)

  • Experience with Power BI / Tableau or similar BI tools

  • Python or R will be an added advantage

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

  • Ability to translate data into business insights

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently
