Assistant Accountant
To support the Department through accounts processing and control, tax and audit preparations, disbursement preparation and monitoring and problem solving, and reporting.

Key Performance Areas
-
Perform the day-to-day processing of accounts payable, payouts, account receivables and loan consolidations to ensure that accounts are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner.

Prepare disbursement of new loans and refund payments on system, create transfer file and upload file to the bank for authorization.

Follow up on any uploaded payment files on the online banking, especially on loan consolidation to ensure that monies get disbursed within 24 hours from approval of the loan.

Processing account receivables daily on the Loan System.

Investigate variances between daily disbursement reports and actual payouts.

Investigate and terminate loan accounts as per company procedures.

Assist in preparing of monthly bank reconciliations.

Prepare creditors payments on a weekly basis and creditor reconciliation.

Does regular checks on various random cases of disbursement and investigate any anomaly, non-compliance to procedure or deviations in accuracy.

Takes up more serious cases with Senior Accountant and Manager Finance for action/remedy.

Clearing and reconciling of general ledger accounts.

Reconciled all unallocated cash accounts daily and prepared necessary journals for reallocating matching items for senior accountant to review and approve.

Attending to internal and external queries relating to financial enquiries.

Assist in providing auditors with required information and resolving requests.

Compile ad-hoc reports based on requirements.

Maintain a filing system for all financial documents.

Perform ad-hoc duties as and when required.
Educational and experience requirements
Grade 12 (minimum), additional accounting qualification and/or banking related qualification would be an added advantage. Minimum of 2 years working experience in the financial services industry, specifically in Accounting, Finance and Human Resource field.
