Credit And Collections Officer

To provide input into the shaping of PostFin strategies and their optmization with an emphasis on loans/clients/customers/insurance claims administration as well as with regard to company-wide business risks, as well as risks pertaining to the loan administrarion system and other business systems PostFin utilizes.

To implement and manage the departmental business plan through performance management and targets and standards to be achieved, ensure departmental expenses are monitored and within Board-approved budget, including leave control and management.

To develop, manage and refine the administrative system and underlying processes that ensure customer, client and product transactional records and data integrity.

Key performance areas

  • Perform loan evaluations in accordance with the PostFin’s Credit Policy and Credit Practises.

  • Dailly collections follow ups on arrear accounts.

  • Ensure the timeous submission of claims against the Insurance and the Estate

  • Implementing further collections processes when required.a

Skills, Knowledge & Personality requirements
  • A thorough knowledge of credit & collections in the financial services industry.

  • Incumbent must be well acquainted with PostFin’s products and services.

  • Excellent communication skills: English language proficiency is required (other languages would be an added advantage). 

  • Analytical and logical thinker who is attentive to detail.

  • Emotionally mature, outgoing, self-motivated, responsive, assertive, ability to handle pressure, honest, sincere, innovative, able to work without supervision.
     

Educational and experience requirements
  • Grade 12 (minimum), additional accounting and/or banking related qualifications would be an added advantage.

  • Minimum of 2 years working experience in the financial services industry, specifically in the area of Collections (legal and pre-legal), Financial Analysis (evaluation and recommendation of credit facilities) as well as the completion and submission of Credit Life insurance claims as well as claims against Late client’s estates.

  • Computer literacy with experience in all Microsoft products.
     

Other
  • Driving License (Code B). Must be willing to use own transport for work purposes (a vehicle and or transport allowance will be included in the package). 

  • Must be willing to work overtime on short notice.

  • Must be a Namibian citizen.
